1. How can I get rid of the watermark?
You can remove the watermark by going to "My flips" page and purchase the embed code (no watermark version) and the download package.
2. Is FlipSnack suited for web development work?
Yes. FlipSnack templates are 100% customizable, making them a smart solution for web developers.
3. What kind of files can I use with the FlipSnack application?
You can upload files in PDF format only. You can upload these PDFs from you computer or import them from the Web.
4. How many PDFs can I add to a FlipSnack flipping book collection?
You can add 50 PDFs per flipping book collection but you can create as many flipping books and flipping book collections as you like. So if you add more PDFs than can be used in one collection, the additional files probably won't make it to the final collection.
5. How "thick" a PDF can be uploaded to FlipSnack?
You can upload PDFs of up to 500 pages each, but not larger than 100 MB.
6. How do I embed a flipping book to my blog or website?
It's very easy to embed the flipping books you created with FlipSnack. Just create your flipping book and when you're finished, click "Publish" and in "My flips" page, click on the "Embed code" option and copy the generated HTML code. Paste the code in any HTML-supporting medium, such as your website or blog admin. If you make changes to your flipping books, the changes are instantly visible where the flipping book is already embeded. You don't have to copy and paste the new embed code, unless you have changed the size of your flipping book.
7. What do I get within the download pack?
We provide a Windows executable file (.exe), a Mac OS X file (.app) and a Shockwave Flash file (.swf). Also we provide an html file you can use to add the flipping book on the web and some instructions (.pdf).
8. I cannot view my flipping books. Why?
In order to view the Flash page flip books created with FlipSnack you need Flash Player 10+. Get it from here.
9. What are the system requirements for using FlipSnack properly?
In order to view FlipSnack.com correctly we recommend Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. FlipSnack.com will work on Microsoft IE9 and IE8 too.
Also, you must have JavaScript enabled and the latest Flash Player version (you can get it from
here).
10. Is FlipSnack free or do I have to pay for it?
FlipSnack is free and you have full access to all of its features. However, if you want to remove the watermark off you flipping books or download them you only have to pay 10 points to get access to both the download SWF and the premium embed code of your flipping book. You can buy points here.
Alternatively you can get a VIP membership which technically gives you unlimited points per month, to use them in all SnackTools apps including FlipSnack.
11. What are the free version's limitations?
The free version of FlipSnack will apply a watermark on your flipping books, also will display only 3 PDFs per flipping book collections, each limited at 15 pages/pdf.
12. What happens when my VIP membership subscription expires?
The VIP membership is automatically renewed. However, if you choose to cancel your subscription or if your payment processor refuses the payment, your subscription will expire. In that case, the premium publishing options will become locked and you won't be able to use them unless you unlock them with points or you get a new subscription. If your monthly subscription expires and you don't wish to renew it, you can use points to unlock the desired items (will stay unlocked forever).
13. How do I share a flipping book?
There are many ways in which you can share FlipSnack flip books. Whether you want to share a permanent link to your flipping book or you want it integrated in your website, you can choose from the following options found on "My flips" page:
- Direct link - by selecting this option, a new personalized preview page hosted on FlipSnack.com will open. Sharing this link with your friends gives them the opportunity to comment on and share your flipping book.
- Email - choose this option to share your flipping book by email.
- Embed code - by selecting this option, you will bring on a Gigya widget in which you can choose from multiple sharing options to make your flipping book available on any website that supports embeddable content.
- Download - choose this option if you want to have your flipping book on your computer. You will get a zip archive containing a Windows executable file (.exe), a Mac OS X file (.app) and a Shockwave Flash file (.swf). Also we provide an html file you can use to add the flipping book on the web and some instructions (.pdf).
14. I have a Facebook page. How do I post to that?
There are various ways of posting your page flip books to your personal or business wall on Facebook:
- You can copy and paste the direct link to your published flipping book on your wall
- Click the Facebook button from the direct link page
- Use the Facebook button from the embed code pop-up
15. Will I lose the settings if I don't publish my flipping book?
No, you will always find the last version of your flipping book on the "My flips" page.
16. Once I've published a flipping book, will I be able to edit it again?
You can edit published flipping books. All you have to do is click "Edit", change PDFs, customize the flipping book and then hit the "Finish" button.
Warning: Once you re-publish a flipping book, it overwrites the previous version in LIVE mode!
All changes are instantly visible where the flipping book is already embeded. You don't have to copy and paste the new embed code, unless you have changed the size of your flipping book.
When you use points to activate a flipping book's premium options, it will remain editable for only 24 hours. VIP members can edit premium flipping books without such time limitations.
17. What happens when I reach the maximum views/day?
If a flipping book hosted on our cloud exceeds the maximum views/day, the book will turn into a static image and a small button will be displayed linking to the flipping book's "direct link" page on FlipSnack.com. All standard items include 25,000 views/day, Extended VIP items include 50,000 views/day. This usually happens only if you publish your flipping book on websites with huge traffic. For this purpose we suggest you to use the download option.
18. Does FlipSnack support right to left read orientation for books or magazines?
Yes, you can enable the right to left reading orientation using the "Right to left orientation" parameter within the settings area.
19. If I upload more than two PDF's will they merge?
Yes, but only if you choose this option from the settings area by checking "Merge all pdf files to one" parameter.
20. How can I improve the quality of my flipping book?
Make sure you save your documents as pdf/x, rasterize your images - this will make the flipping book work smoothly and also will achieve higher quality.
In case you don't want to rasterize your images make sure that you don't use blend modes on filters and graphics.
Good to know: make sure that all pages are the same size, otherwise they will scale to the size of the first page.
