2 A comparison study on the effect of e-learning tools towards students’ comprehension for Principles of Computer Network Course in USIM F. Ridzuan and S.A. Pitchay, Abstract The mixture of ICT technologies into teaching method also known as the blended learning has been a recent major issues in all sectors of education. As Malaysia has targeted to become one of the education hub for excellence in the Asian region, it is essential for all universities to implement these method of teaching into available courses. Nonetheless, it is still unknown as how this method will effect on students’ comprehension towards the subject. Thus, this paper will explore and compare the effect of using e- learning tools towards students’ comprehension focusing on the Principles of Computer Network Course. An experiment involving 90 second and third year students in which they were asked to answer a set of ten similar comprehension test based on an online video lecture and a Powtoon video. These two videos were developed based on the same course content focusing only on a chapter in the subject. Students also then need to answer several questions regarding the two e-learning tools. Results yield from this experiment will indicate the e-learning tools preferred by the students and which e- learning tool could be a better source in aiding students’ comprehension for learning. It is expected that this study will indirectly help the instructor to produce a better e-learning material for the students thus increasing the implementation of blended learning methods in Malaysian higher education. 2 Validating a Constructivist Instructional Design Model for JAVA Learning Online Using Website Survey Mohannad Bajbouj*, Najwa Hayaati Mohd Alwi and Nurul Fathihin Mohd Shah Abstract ELearning is becoming a more significant method in the education field, but it still faces a number of challenges. As stated in the constructivist theory, one of the problems is the consideration that has to be taken on the diverse experience levels of students and how these varying levels will affect the eLearning system. This research aims to create a new instructional design mode for java learning websites. Like all models, the new model is also based on a theoretical foundation, namely constructivism, which emphasis is placed on the learner or the student rather than the teacher or the instructor. Students learn by fitting new information together with what they already know. People learn best when they actively construct their own understanding. It seems the concept of interactivity in the learning process becomes more definable and measureable when it is narrowed down to specific areas. The new constructivist- based model is composed of these processes: 1) identify types of student experience, 2) identify different methods to present concepts, 3) Assign scores for presentation methods for each student type, 4) identify the current student’s class, and 5) choose the best presentation methods. Finally the website obtains the feedback of the students’ knowledge on the lesson s delivered. The website will boost more motivation among the students and benefit them when we apply this model to it, because this model is suitable for the students’ different levels of knowledge and skills. The model presents the java instructions in several ways to fit the levels of students. The Internet is a big place, with a lot of content, to help make things a little easier.
