Let’s get our heads together. No, actually, forget that, let’s get our hearts and our hands together. It’s when our hearts are united in one vision, and we bother to get our hands dirty in the process that we form true united relaonships and actually have stu to pray about! Here’s one of my favourite verses from the Bible: “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord” (Romans 12.11). I can’t help but recognise that the mes when my faith feels the driest, my prayer life is at its lowest, and the Bible seems the most distant, are the mes when I’m doing nothing with my faith. I’m usually not challenging myself, not stepping up and asking God to do new things with me, or geng comfy with the paerns of faith I’ve established for myself. But then I pray that dangerous prayer, “Father, would you give me a new challenge”, and suddenly I nd there is something I’m being challenged to do, or to be, or to give, or to talk about—something I’m not quite ready for. Over the last few years we have enabled over 300 local church volunteers to get involved in projects that our Island’s schools are asking for. Most of them see themselves as far from youth or schools workers, but have answered that call, and felt their spiritual fervour grow. The result for the schools has been seeing the church serve them, love them and value them. The result for the individuals has been increased engagement with their own faith. The result for local churches has been a more ery community of believers. The result for our Island has been a growing network of disciples of all ages who are united by mission, but worship diversely. This issue explores how that all works. May it bless you, inspire you to pray for us, and movate you to join us. how we enable partnerships how we enable churches how we enable people how you can get involved welcome in this issue: how we enable partnerships: 02 | open the book primary assemblies 03 | life maers & it’s your move 04 | lifepath Y5 curriculum event 05 | romance adacemy relaonship lessons how we enable churches: 06 | gapper scheme 2014 - 15 07 | youth residenals & services how we enable people: 08 | adult leadership course [reboot] 09 | Chrisan groups in schools 10 | 412—youth leadership course 11 | books how you can get involved: 12 | all the ways to get involved 13 | prayer 14 | fundraising & awareness Back cover: thanks to 2 special people. 01
