WOW! What a month we have had here at TRI with the roll out of our very rst issue and the great re - sponses we have gotten from our readers on how nice the magazine turned out! With this in mind I want to take the time to thank ALL of our fantastic advertisers for supporting our new Thunder Roads Indiana maga - zine because without them we could not bring you this high quality FREE motorcycle magazine based right here in your Hoosier state! I just want to remind our readers to send in pictures of their travels through our great state of Indiana and please send us pictures and reports of benets or events that you may have attended in the month so that we may be able to report on the great causes supported by our motorcycle community. Make sure you take a look at our events page to see some of the great biker events coming up in July! This letter is being written on the heels of the amaz - ing 21st Miracle Ride for Riley Hospital for Children and what a event it was! I have never been as proud to be a part of such a benevolent group of people like our motorcycle community here in the great state of Indiana and what they have done through the 21 years of giving back to a cause as special as saving child - rens lives through Riley Hospital. The numbers are not ofcial yet but about 5000 riders took part in the rides between Saturday May 31st and Sunday June 1st and raised some $300,000 for Riley and that’s just fan - tastic! TRI was set up under the big tent at Lucas Oil Raceway for the end of the “Big Ride” on Sunday and we met so many great riders that came out on the hot 87 degree Sunday to give back and show what bikers can do in large numbers, honestly the Miracle Ride may need a bigger parking lot next year! If you are planning a benet in the future read my article in this issue of thinking outside the box for your next event, it may give you a few ideas that will set your benet apart from others and get a boost in at - tendance and donations. In closing I want to thank a recent new member of the TRI staff, Chris Burton our new ofce manager (punching bag), we are expecting great things to come from Chris’s experience in business and technology and looking forward to making TRI the best free motor - cycle mag in the nation… no pressure Chris!
