COURSE OVERVIEW Digital Citizenship is a ten-week seventh grade class designed to develop informational technology skills for the 21st century learner in our communication-driven world. Students will learn to safely use digital resources in a creative, effective, ethical, and responsible manner. Students will enhance their knowledge of digital trends in regards to social networking. The impact and consequences related to digital communication and learning how to implement safeguards will also be incorporated into the class. Digital citizenship, in relation to the acceptable use of technology, will be emphasized as students are given the opportunity to participate in an online classroom environment in a responsible manner. This course will also teach troubleshooting, research methods, proper syntax for computer programming. Students will be establishing online accounts for educational purposes to enhance their experiences in the class. Throughout the term, student will learn to effectively utilize a variety of digital resources and collaboration tools.
