Charm necklaces are extremely ubiquitous pieces of jewellery that provide finishing touch to any look. An apparently endless range of amulets and chains, you can find one to matchyour price range and taste. Thick or thin, pendulous or short, linked or boxed, all chains will look stylish if supporting a lovely silver charm. The silver of a charm necklace is that it is always a personal choice that displays your dispositionexactly when you put it on. There are cute amulets for a family day outing and more elegant pieces for a night-time excursion. It is extremely easy to become addicted to amulets and build up a selection of pendants for all situations. If you prefer a bangle, amulets of all dimensions and designs can be found and attached to make a distinctive piece of jewellery. Amulets have always been fashionable pieces of jewellery. The old-fashioned charm bangle had tiny, collectable charms, purchased over time. As befitting fashion tropes the style and size of the amulets altered. Ban the bomb icons and daisies were much worn throughout the 60’s. In the seventies, each semiprecious gem stone had its own meaning. Come the 80s the perceived image of the silver charm bangle generally lost its attraction, allowing big penchant for outsized imitations of silver charm bracelets, while other small amulets or charms were found adorning the neck. Charms containing people’s names or initial letters were decorating fashionable necks. Bulky fun silver charm became popular. In the 1990s, retro style charms were the look. Heart shaped charms never go out of fashion, though tendencies in designs and dimensions might vary alter. In the year 2000 a tiny company established in Denmark created the Pandora silver charm bangle which boasted themed beads placed on a leather bangle and once again the attraction of amulets soared. Pandora has created a return to collecting amulets and small amulets to be put onto both bracelets and pendants. Beads that follow a theme are juxtaposed with select emblems on chunky pendants. Small catches are gone in favour of little padlocks. Slight chains are weighed down by a selection of a handful of different amulets jumbled together. Bespoking your jewellery to mirror your clothing or your attitude is now simple, fun and extremely attractive. Renowned jewellers, like Chanel, are selling their own distinctive charm necklaces. Distinguished brands and their symbols can be chosen in any precious metals. However, it is not difficult to make your own, requiring just a dollop of imagination, almost any number of tiny bits and pieces can be put onto a chain to great impact.
