Introduction: We have made a work about solving a problem with the graphing method. Our math professor gave us the problem and we needed to solve it by using the graphing method. In order for us to solve the problem, we needed to find the variables and make a table with x and y values. To find x ’s and y ’s values, we needed to make equations and give either of those letters a value and substitute the value in the equation in order to find the other letter. Then we needed to put the coordinates that we took in the Cartesian plane. We needed three values for each letter (three coordinates in total) in order to make the two graphs (one for each equation). To find the exact value of my variables, I needed to find the intersection point of both of my equations and its coordinate would be ( x , y ). Problem: Alberto’s sons minus Francisco´s sons is two, and three times Alberto’s sons plus Francisco’s sons is 6. Find Alberto’s sons. Variables: A= Alberto’s sons ( x ) F= Francisco’s sons ( y ) Equations: A – F = 2 3A F = 6 Scale: 1cm=1 son
