Quality Circle was introduced in Japan in the post war years. A statistician for the United States Government W.Edwards Deming (1900-1993) used this word in his lecture.It is a programme which encourages employee participation and implies the development of skills, capabilities, confidence and creativity of the people. The objective of Quality Circle are multi-faceted :- 1) Change in Attitude - from "I Don't care to "I do care". Continuous improvement of quality life through humanity at work. 2) Self development 3) Team-spirit development 4) improvement in organisational culture The programme is designed for middle and senior level executives / managers who are responsible for quality ,productivity and people improvement in the organisation.
