We appreciate that it is a busy time and are grateful for your assistance. The truffles will be at the school from 3pm on Friday the 21 st of November. If you are free we would love your help to bag them in the hall. Last year it only took a couple of hours with about fifteen people contributing. The truffles will be available for pick up at the Waihopai School Community Market day on Sunday 23rd November in the Park Syndicate. Market Day November 23 rd 2014 - Our Community Market Day is fast approaching please start crossing your fingers for fabulous weather on the 23rd of November (leading up to it would be good to  ). I have managed to have a sneak preview at some of the goodies available on the day and they are fabulous we have very talented children and teachers. You should hopefully have all received a baking tray and bag home this week. Our bake sale has always been a very popular stall and would not be possible without your fantastic contributions. Please return the trays (with baking on them) to the school on Friday 21st (limited fridge space available) or to 35 Louisa Street between 3 and 5pm on Saturday 22nd alternatively to the school in the Park syndicate from 9-10.30am on Sunday the 23rd. Thank you again for your support it is very much appreciated with the focus being our children and their school. Sports News ORIENTEERING WHEN : Sunday 16 th November 2014 TIME : 11.30am – 1.00pm WHERE : Tara Downs, Omaui (signposted from Bluff Road at Greenhill’s turn right onto Omaui Road and continue through Omaui township to parking area). DISTANCES : 5 courses offered catering for all abilities; Long Red – 4.7km, Short Red 2.9km, Orange 3.09km, Yellow 2.6km & White 1.8km Dress warm as a lot of this area is exposed to the wind. If this event is cancelled, listen to the radio cancellations or failing that give Trish Foote a call on 03 218 4590. ATHLETICS WORKSHOPS Lilian Tudor from Athletics Southland is running a workshop for teachers and parents to learn how to run different field events, the correct technique for qualifying in field events and the best practice when running track events and timing. When: Wednesday 19 th November 2014, Where: Surrey Park Stadium, Invercargill Time: 3.30pm If you are interested in attending then please register with Jane Naylor at Sport Southland on 03 211 2150 or jane.naylor@sportsouthland.co.nz BADMINTON JUNIOR BADDY BASHERS CLUB This programme runs on Wednesdays from 3.30pm – 4.30pm at the Badminton Hall at Surrey Park each week during the term. This junior club is for ages 5-12 years and is free of charge with all the equipment supplied and qualified coaches taking the sessions. Kids can enter either as an individuals and complete all three legs of the event as part of a team of two and complete either the Swim/Run or Bike/RUN sections. This event will be held in Dunedin on Sunday 1 st March 2015.
