Latest Musings ... Welcome to the 2nd annual ACN Review Stud Issue! Thank you to each and every one of you that placed an ad, this issue is almost three times as big as last year’s stud issue! Special thanks go out to Marlene Ness who spent hours contacting people about advertising. This issue wouldn’t be the success it is without her help. Also excellent are our articles this month. Lots of good reading is within these pages - I hope you enjoy what our contributors have to offer. We have guest authors Patty Darke (Darkehaven) and Olga Evelyn (Amunique) sharing some insights with us, along with our regular contributors. Hopefully you’re reading this issue as you’re preparing to head to the ASC National Specialty at Purina Farms in Grey Summit, MO. I know it’s going to be a fantastic show, thanks to Show Chair Dianne Hill and Asst. Show Chair Laura Heidrich. For the frst time in many years there will be a pre- show, offering another set of points to the folks that are traveling from far and wide to attend. There will also be a grooming seminar presented by Linda Pitts, to raise funds for the research project that Dr. Aguirre is doing with the ASC-F to determine the DNA marker for cataracts in Cockers. I believe that there is pretty much standing room only for the seminar, which will be followed by an ice cream social. This year promises to be a lot of fun. Here in Calgary the news was ooded last month with a story of a breeder/exhibitor whose home was raided by the Calgary Humane Society due to a neighbour’s call. She had in excess of 24 dogs in a variety of breeds, and the CHS felt the animals were neglected. The public outcry and instant damnation was sad, considering few knew the entire story. Folks, if you need help with your dogs, please ask. You don’t have to post on Facebook, but let somebody know that you need help. Dog people are generally good-hearted, and then you avoid charges and possible court costs. Go hug your dogs! Kelly Ladouceur Publisher, ACN Review kladckrs@gmail.com In this Issue ...
