Outside of the film studio there are more paparazzi awaiting Chance to get out of the car. He rushes out and tries to make his way into the building when a little girl tugs in his hoodie. He looks down and sees her waving at him with an old picture of him from his in her hand. He kneels down, greets her. She asks him to never change again and that she looks up to him. He promises signs the picture hug and leaves. Inside, Chance takes off his sunglasses and gets into a chair. His costar walks up to him to asks him why he is so late. Chance just gets whatever he needs to get done and is on set to get to work. The costar continues to bug Chance, so he finds a way to get some time alone. Later, Chance goes to a dinner with some friends when he has his eye on a girl. This girl is PENELOPE LANE. She looks at him, realizing who it is but immediately turns away. He approaches her and speaks to her. She pays him no mind. A story comes on TV about a missing girl and a few women who have been killed in the past weeks. She asks what would he want from a girl like her. He explains he does not want anything more than just a single night with her, one day. She agrees; only if he never forgets about her. She has a past. Chance gets home, opens the front door and hears his mother screaming. He runs upstairs to see her lying on the floor drenched in her own blood. He cries for help and looks up to see his own father with kitchen knife in his hand. Paramedics are rushing Chance and his mother into the ambulance. They are speaking quickly to try to keep the two alive. In the hospital, people realize who is being taken into care and pictures are being taken, voices fill the room. Doctors perform on Chance before we hear the straight line beep.
