Care for Kid’s Ears Campaign The Care for Kid’s Ears Campaign has developed a large variety of materials in regard to the important issue of ear health in young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Materials have been produced targeting specific sections of the community including parents and carers, early childhood groups, teachers and health professionals. Materials produced include storybooks, posters, colouring in pages and brochures. From a multi-media perspective the campaign has also produced a talking book and healthy ear video. See further details here . NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920 ′ s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Indigenous Australians. NAIDOC Week is held in the first full week of July. It is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society. We encourage all Australians to participate in the celebrations and activities that take place across the nation during NAIDOC Week. Heart Foundation News Margaret: heart attack survivor.
