Blood Systems—one of the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit community blood service providers—operates community blood centers serving more than 700 hospitals in 22 states, is a partner in the operation of four high-volume donor testing laboratories, distributes plasma-derived biological products, provides quality and regulatory compliance consulting services and operates a world-renowned transfusion medicine research institute.
Over the years, our Annual Report has focused on specific stakeholders, such as blood donors, patients, donor groups, customers and employees. This report is dedicated to our behind-the-scenes technical side. Much of Blood Systems’ budget, focus and time is spent on equipment, systems and supplies to provide a safe and dependable blood supply that saves lives.
It is our continuing focus on patients—the recipients of the blood products and services we provide—that has been our “true north” in this turbulent year.
