FROM THE PRESIDENT T ank you GREAER LAS CRUCES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 505 S. Main St., Suite 134 • Las Cruces, NM 88001 • 575-524-1968 • www.lascruces.org his is the time o the year to ref ect. I you have the time that is. It is also the time o the year to give thanks or all that we have. One thing I am eternally thankul or is the support the Greater Las Cruces Chamber o Commerce receives rom our volunteers. As we prepped or our annual board retreat, we looked at a number o things that we do operationally, including the number o events we put on and the number o committee meetings that we hold. I was startled that that combined number is nearly 300! T at is more than one event or committee meeting every work day or the entire year. T ose numbers really underscore the need or volunteers. I have said many times we could not do what we do without our volunteers. T at’s really the truth. We are blessed to have so many people who take time out o their already busy days to help us out. For the last three years we have held a “thank you” event in December and invited everyone who has helped us during the year. It is very inormal. No checking people in – no speeches – just a simple “T ank You”. I think that it is the least that we can do or a group o olks who tirelessly support our e orts. And because it cannot be said enough: T ank you! Bill Allen, President/CEO Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce BILL ALLEN FROM THE CHAIR What an honor it has been he diversity and intelligence o my ellow board members has always amazed and impressed me. T is community is ortunate to have such a spectrum o community leaders dedicate their time and energy working toward a better uture. Equally impressive is the dedication o many o the past chairs who still serve tirelessly on myriad committees that are well organized and on task. T rough the direction o the board, Bill Allen and his sta have carried out directives, sometimes with odds overwhelmingly against us, as well as continuing many legacy projects like the Armijo House and the leadership programs that will give back to our region or generations. We have welcomed joint e orts with the Hispanic Chamber and have received even greater public support through our advocacy or the business community. It is time now to look orward to a new year and the promise it holds, and to know your chamber o commerce is resolutely building the oundations or a prosperous Greater Las Cruces.
