Labor day is upon us which means summer is in the rear view mirror. I hope each and every one o you were able to enjoy some time o with your amily and riends. At the same time I hope that your business also thrived during the summer months. Tis means we are ocially into our frst month o business at the Massachusetts Restaurant Association or fscal year 2015. As such, we are looking or committee volunteers to join the cause and help build the uture or MRA and our industry. I am proud to announce the ollowing committee chairs who have agreed to take leadership roles with me and will be orming their committees this month. On the Membership Committee Brad Schi, Chie Marketing Ocer at Papa Gino’s/D’Angelo’s, will chair the committee. Te Education Committee will be led by the MRA’s own Stacy Sawyer, Director o Education. Ed Doyle rom RealFood Consulting, who shook things up with the rade Show Committee last year, has volunteered to once again steer this important group. On the Business Partners Committee, Richard Mazzarella rom winbrook Insurance will lead the charge and looks to also shake some things up. Finally, Director o Government Aairs Steve Clark will head the Human Resource Committee, which is the only committee that consists entirely o operators and/or their HR representatives. On pages 1 and 4 o this issue you’ll fnd the criteria required to volunteer as well as the goal o each committee, so I urge you to get involved because together we really do make a great dierence. I also look orward to seeing all o you at the “End o Summer Bummer” membership mixer which will immediately ollow our quarterly Board Meeting on September 17th. Both the Board Meeting and reception will be held at the historic Boston Faneuil Hall at Te Briar Group’s Anthem Kitchen & Bar. Tis will be a great time to catch up with all the Food & Beverage Operators and Business Partners and to network with each other, swap stories rom the summer and talk about all the great things that we do to make a dierence in the restaurant industry. And fnally in your planning, please mark the date o October 29th, when we will hold the MRA Hall o Fame Dinner at the World rade Center in the Seaport area. More details will ollow shortly.
