Underneath the florescent lights of Saigon’s skyscrapers is a tale of the past. However, the metropolitan chaos on the streets of Saigon overshadows the rich history of the city. In a culture of constant mobility the vietnamese people seldom begin to see the beauty of history existing in their urban jungle. Trekking through the city is a blur of red and yellow motorcycle flashes accompanied with chatter, alleyways of pungent smells, and serenity. However, as journey further I notice that occupations of Vietnam or conflicts can be shown in deliriant architectural monuments or even in the simplest of streets. Infected with individualised history, Saigon speaks that we must embrace our cultural roots, while progressing toward the future.
