Through him God was reconciled to all things in heaven and on earth, even to us. That we might be bold and blameless before God. In awe and gratitude, we gather to worship the Lord our God. *HYMN OF PRAISE NO. 666 Puer Nobis Nascitur “O Splendor of God’s Glory Bright” *PRAYER OF CONFESSION Forgiving God, we confess that we are conformed to this world: To its frantic pace, too hectic to notice all the blessings you provide; To its reckless waste, exploiting what you entrust to our care; To its shallow values, oblivious to the giftedness of people different from us. To its impatient attitudes, preferring the latest instead of the lasting. Forgive our conformity and transform us, O God. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen. *WORDS OF ASSURANCE If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, We would now be lost in sin. But it is the Lord who is on our side, And so we are forgiven. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Amen.
