Big Game Hunter Hunter Pence’s early home run helped San Francisco beat James Shields and the Kansas City Royals in Game 1 of the World Series. Story, Page B1 WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2014 POST REGISTER A 2 people talk LOS ANGELES (AP) — An actress who suggested she was detained by Los Angeles police because of racial pro- filing after she was found in a parked car with her boy- friend has been charged with lewd conduct. Daniele Watts, who appeared in “Django Unchained,” and Brian Lucas each were charged Tuesday with misde- meanor counts that carry potential six-month jail terms. An email to Lucas sent through his website and an email to Watts’ agent, Justin Baxter, were not immediately returned. Both are free pending arraign- ment. The 28-year-old Watts was briefly handcuffed last month after police say she refused to provide identification to officers investi- gating a report of lewd conduct in a parked car in Studio City. Watts said she and the 43-year-old Lucas were just kissing. Police contacted actress before she was found dead AUBURN, Wash. (AP) — Sub- urban Seattle police say they contacted actress Misty Upham, known for her roles in “August: Osage County,” ”Frozen River” and “Django Unchained,” several times before she was found dead in a ravine last week. Auburn police said Tuesday that officers contacted Upham four times since July 2013, and each time she agreed to be taken by private ambulance for further evaluation. Once she told investi- gators she had a black eye and an ankle injury from jumping out a second-story window. Actress cuffed on lewd charge birthdays Actor Jeff Goldblum is 62. The African-American comedian wins her on-camera role after serving as a writer on the show last season. Jones has been a featured performer at the Just for Laughs fes- tival in Montreal and the Aspen Comedy Festival. She starred in a one-hour comedy special “Problem Child” on Show- time. She came to “SNL” in January, along with fellow writer LaKendra Tookes as well as Sasheer Zamata, who was signed to join the cast at that time. Those hirings came after “SNL” had been criticized for a lack of diversity, particularly the absence of any black women among the regular or featured players. today’s quiz Isaac Asimov’s Super Quiz Subject: THE PANAMA CANAL (e.g., Which two oceans does the canal connect?
