Story, Page B1 FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2014 POST REGISTER A 2 people talk NEW YORK (AP) — NBC has scrapped a Bill Cosby comedy that was under development and TV Land will stop airing reruns of “The Cosby Show,” moves that came a day after another woman came forward claiming that the once-be- loved comic had sexually assaulted her. NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks said Wednesday the Cosby sitcom “is no longer under devel- opment.” A TV Land represen- tative said the reruns will stop airing immediately for an indef- inite time. “The Cosby Show” also was to have been part of a Thanksgiving sitcom marathon. The NBC sitcom and “Cosby Show” reruns joined a Netflix Cosby standup comedy special, which was indefinitely postponed Tuesday, as mounting evidence of Cosby’s faltering career. They occurred a day after model Janice Dickinson , in an interview with “Entertain ment Tonight,” be- came the third woman in re- cent weeks to allege she’d been assaulted by Cosby — charges strongly denied by the comedian’s lawyer. The devel- opments, which involve allega- tions that were widely reported a decade ago as well as new accu- sations, have gravely damaged the 77-year-old comedian’s reputation as America’s TV dad at a time when he was launching a come- back. A year ago, his first standup special in 30 years drew a hefty audience of 2 million viewers. TV Land pulls ‘Cosby Show’ birthdays Actor Joseph Campanella is 90. Actor Lau- rence Luckinbill is 80. NEW YORK (AP) — “The Missing” is a thriller etched into a portrait of the parents of a 5-year-old boy who, with his family on holiday in a quiet French village, disappears without warning. During the series’ eight episodes, the action pingpongs between 2006 (in the immediate aftermath of the child’s abduction) and 2014, by which time the child’s mother ( Frances O’Connor ) has mounted an effort to move on. She exists in stark contrast to Tony, the father ( James Nesbitt ), who has only grown more fixated on finding his son as he grasps at evermore slender straws. With the series’ second episode (Satur- day on Starz), the depth of the mystery emerges: This is no simple kidnapping. today’s quiz Isaac Asimov’s Super Quiz Subject: POSSESSIVE APOSTROPHE (e.g., President Obama’s middle name is ____.
