Assessment is a heavy word, bogged down by exactitude and minutiae. It is a product, which often sits on a shelf that rarely gets used. Action research does not ask for pretty statistics even though statistics and data are still important to the process. Action research is adaptive, responsive, and above all quick. The premise of action research is—what can we do with the data that we’ve got to make what we’re doing better right now.
