It is already December, would you believe it? Every year I am so surprised of how fast the time goes. Do you think I will ever get over it? ... Is it because I am getting older?... Probably.... (But please don’t let me know you think so too). In December we will have a couple of events and I will also take the staff away for a retreat on December 6, 7 and 8 inclusively. The Saturday December 6 we will close the store at 4pm and the 7 and 8 we will be closed all day. The staff is really looking forward to this retreat and, actually I am too. My team is the best team in the whole world and because I do appreciate them very much, I think that they deserve to go away and enjoy free time. While classes for this year are winding down, the Calendar for January through April 2015 is on its way. It’s shaping up to be a great kick off to the year, with a great line up of classes, including some great new ones. We will also have a lot of events, we are celebrating our 7th anniversary and we thought that because it is 7, our theme should be Lucky Seven. All year long it will be "Buy 6 get the 7th free on everything" (excluding the Bernina products). Remember when we did a surprise event on every 5th of the month two years ago, I thought we should do the same with every 7th of the month. What do you think? All the promotions will be on our Facebook Page, so don't forget to “like us” to be able to take advantage of them. Our 7th Anniversary Sale will be from January 2nd to the 7th and don't forget that we are open on Sunday now. (For this particular Sunday we will be opened from 10 to 4) We will also have our Challenge for the World Wide Quilt Day which will be on March 15, we will make it available in the middle of January, and so much more... You really have to read the Newsletter every month to the last page otherwise you may miss an important event (like a SALE or a give away)! Michèle Santerre Owner Michèle
Hi everybody, hope you enjoyed the "Share the Love" quilt show. I am so proud of all of you. Every visitor had only good comments about all of your quilts. I want to thank you so very much for allowing me to fulfill one of my dream, having a show at The Running Stitch. Your participation in this event was overwhelming. We received as many as 120 quilts. Life is good!!! We donated to the Kanata Food Bank over 600 pieces of non perishable food and $350.00. The people at the Kanata Food Bank were really happy and grateful . You probably noticed new faces in the store. I'd like to welcome Alex and Krista on our team. Alex will be doing the Saturdays & Sundays and Krista will be doing some Fridays and Sundays. When you will be reading this Newsletter I will still be in Houston. I was at the Houston Quilt Market with Gabriele and Raymond from the 23rd to the 27th. Gabriele flew back on the 27th and I stayed with Raymond to visit San Antonio and some quilt shops that have a huge reputation. I will be back on the 4th of November and we will certainly do one or two demo days. In the meantime follow us on Facebook and our Website where all the events are posted. Do not hesitate to call (613-836-5908.) or email us (email@example.com ) if you have any questions or concerns... Have a great month of November and see you at the store soon. In just a few days our first ever Quilt Show "Share the Love" will happen. Here at The Running Stitch we are pretty excited and so very proud, because it will be a beautiful show. Thank you so much to everyone who let us have their quilts for a few days. Please do not forget to pick them up on the Sunday or Monday, October 5 and 6. The storing space is very limited for all the quilts and I would really prefer not to bring them back home. We will also have our first Sewapalooza and Martin Favre (the President of Bernina Canada) will be present along with Dianne Bungay our National Educator and Michelle Kratzer from Bernina USA and we cannot forget our Miss Bernina herself, Wendy Fraser. All these beautiful people will share their passion and love for the Bernina machines capabilities. It promises to be a lot of fun. We started to open on Sunday and we are trying the opening hours now. It looks like noon to 4 will be great hours to try for now. The only exception will be some holidays, when there is a statutory holiday on the Monday, we will close on the Sunday. For example -we will be close on the Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend (October 12 and October 13). I don't know about you but in the Fall I have a tendency to bake, so I thought that you might be interested in having my favourite Apple Pie Recipe. - Bon appetit. Michèle Santerre - Owner
