I realise that many of you will not know me and I look forward to meeting more of you at our monthly meetings being held for the immediate future at the Nut- well Lodge, Lympstone. They have made us very welcome and serve a great, low - cost carvery! I have been connected with the CBCCC since the sixties and have held several posts on the commit- tee over the years. I was honoured and surprised to be asked to be president. Over the years many changes have happened mostly good ones and I am proud of those achievements. Christmas is almost upon us again with many events to look forward to including the Christmas COGS lunch on Dec. 16 th . May I wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. Happy motoring into 2015! May More Mutterings Richard So, fifty years on the Club seems to have had a very active and successful year. Whilst the year started rather wet and curtailed our Nearly New Years Day Run, things improved and the programme of Golden Anniversary events ensured there was no lack of opportunity to get out on the road with friends old and new. Well done Mr. Lavers ! As we go to press, we will shortly be setting up the final stand of the year at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC. I hope you were able to go and see it but a report will appear in the February magazine. Talking of the show at the NEC, I do get to speak to some interesting people in my role as editor. In trying to fix a problem related to the show, I spoke with the Military Vehicle Trust and it turns out the their coordinator works on the cars for the TV series Classic Car S.O.S. As a result, I am trying to get some tales from behind the scenes to relay in a future magazine. As many of you will know, I am always on the look out for potential articles that will be of interest to our membership. At this point, I must thank and congratulate Mike and Hilary Stratton for their ongoing supply of reports relating to the huge number of rallies and runs they attend. But the magazine has to feature some technical items too so I’d be pleased to see more of those in the coming months as well. Alternatively, perhaps you have undertaken repair or restoration of some part of your wheeled machine. Don’t worry too much about never having sent anything before - variety and new contributors are always welcomed. I am also planning a new regular feature on ‘a day out’ compiled from the many routes tried and tested by the organisers of various runs we undertake. We can’t always spare the time on the day of an organised run but this doesn’t mean you can’t follow the same route at your convenience—and perhaps ask one or two friends along too. So, if you have a favourite route or road, please get in touch with some details. May I wish you and yours a Happy Christmas. Thanks to all contributors and to Grace’s Guide for the Mrs. Peeks advertisement on page seven and the Rootes advertisement on page nine. Club Night Notice - The sudden closure of The Twisted Oak prompted the need for a new venue at The Nutwell Lodge, Exmouth Road Lympstone for recent months. As refurbishment plans for the Twisted Oak are not finalised so we will meet at The Nutwell Lodge for the foreseeable future. Molly Luxton would like to thank all organisers of COGS monthly lunches in 2014 and is now looking for organisers in 2015. For the benefit of new Club members, we hold monthly lunches which require an organiser to find a pub with a suitable car park and check the pub can cater for up to thirty - forty cars and their occupants for lunch. All members welcome. If you can help, please call Molly Luxton on 01392 841270. Thank you. COGS Announcement
