Here are eight reasons why you should consider choosing interactive, digital flipbooks instead of boring and static PDFs. Check them out!
Activity: 1. Choose two students to be runners, and place one on each side of the set of rows to retrieve the ball when it leaves the play area. 2. Have the remaining players arrange themselves in an array, meaning lined up in rows, similar to the tabletop version of the game foosball. An equal number of players and rows should be on each half of the field. (Note: If a football field is available, use the lines painted on the field. If not, monitor players on their lines.) 3. Use these instructions to play the game: a. Each player is restricted to moving sideways along his row. Players may not move forward or back. b. The instructor rolls three playground balls into the middle of the playing area. c. Players pass the balls down their own lines to another line, eventually progressing the balls toward the goal on the opposite side of the field. d. A goal is scored when any part of the ball crosses the goal area. Make it easier : Use five playground balls instead of three. This gives players more to attend to, but more goals will be scored. Also, allow students to move backward or forward one step from their lines. Make it harder: Position a goalie in front of each goal area. Spread the lines of players further out, and do not allow sideways movement. Life-Sized Foosball Age group: Any Time needed: 15 minutes or more To win: To score a goal in your opponent’s net without leaving your position Materials required: Three playground balls, goal markers Group size: Medium to Large Preparation: Create a goal area using any set of items to mark goal boundaries, or create one using tape. Foosball, whether tabletop or life- size, is a way to alleviate stress, requires students to think and react quickly, and focus on only the objective of the game – to score a goal. Left Brain knows... Right Brain knows... This game turns a tabletop game into a life-size game. What other tabletop games could be changed into life-size games? How could air hockey or billiards be played? 11
