Here are eight reasons why you should consider choosing interactive, digital flipbooks instead of boring and static PDFs. Check them out!
Lots of animals are endangered such as: the African elephant, African penguin, American bison, Atlantic puffin, bald eagle, black tail prairie dog, bonobo, orang-utan, bottlenose dolphin, Brazilian tapir, California condor, capiybara, common octopus, cheetah, common wombat, cougar, emperor penguin, giant panda, giraffe, grey wolf, great white shark, green anacon- da, green sea turtle, grizzly bear, hippopotamus, Indian rhinoceros, killer whale koala, lions, meerkats, mountain gorilla, narwhal, ostrich, plains zebra, platypus, polar bear and unfortunately lots more. There are lots of things you can do to help. Support a wildlife charity like WWF or enter the David Shepherd Art and Poetry competition run by Mrs Lavery, also when you are in Year 8 you can do the sponsored tetrathlon to raise money for Animals Asia. Other things you can do include not buying things made from ivory or turtle shells when you are on holiday. Think about the products you use in the house, do they contain palm oil. The growing of non-sustainable palm oil in countries like Africa, Asia, North America, and South America is having a devastating effect on animals, humans and the environment. Did you know according to the World Wildlife Fund, an area the equivalent size of 300 football fields of rainforest is cleared each hour to make way for palm oil production? This large-scale deforestation is pushing many species to extinction, and findings show that if nothing changes species like the orang-utan could become extinct in the wild within the next 5-10 years, and Sumatran tigers less than 3 years! I’m sure you agree these facts are shocking so do something to help, become an eco-warrior! Milly Padfield & Amelia Finn Year 5
