When I went to the time of Alexander the Great, also known as Iskandar, the greatest military commander in all of history, and my second favorite history character ever, right below Tamamo- no-Mae, I posed as a warrior in his army, and that, I regret. I could care less about the walking, because it was the constant threat of death, and the fact that I saw many violent battles, heard swords impaling soldiers, and saw people be decapitated, impaled, and disemboweled, that was what shook me. I had heard that Alexander the Great was a very short man, and I had heard right. He ws only as tall as me, at 5”7’. He was a great man, and an even better leader. When I heard him speak at conquered cities to recruit more men, I was moved by his words. The only thing he wanted was to see Oceanus. I didn’t have the guts to tell him that he would never see Oceanus, and that he would be killed by a disease at age 30. I just couldn’t tell him that his dream would never be reached. I couldn’t bear to ruin his life. When we got to see him for the last time before he died, I had tears running down my face, as I was seeing one of my most beloved friends before he would die. I had spent so much time with him over the time I was there. He would eat with us, drink with us, and even talk with us. No matter what it was, if it had any enjoyment factor whatsoever, he would do it with all of us. Eating, getting drunk, even sleeping in the same place as us while we traveled. He acted as if he were just as low as us, but still he was a great leader when need be. Seeing my friend’s face for the last time was enough to make me never return to being in any army, in any time, in any universe. I could never bear to see that face again. ! This was the route that I had traveled with Alexander:
