CLIMB A READY TO MOUNTAIN? This workbook is about Living Big, reaching beyond what you know to be secure and comfortable and real into a new part of yourself that can only be stimulated by challenging circumstances. I’ve had several Live Big moments and after each one, I am stronger. I stood on stage and in front of thousands of people, revealed my least favorite part of my body, my stretch marks. I participated and placed in a Strong Man competition in which I flipped 300-pound tires and pulled a 5000 pound HumVee. Most recently, I planned a trip to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. The largest free-standing mountain in the world, a t 19,000 feet, it took 6 days to summit and 1 to desend. I worked out for hours at a time for months, prepared my family to thri ve in my absence and put aside my business for an unprecendented 10 days. Many things happened in the process. I had to make time to work out, and be there for myself every day. I found out I still had time to do all the other things I found important. I stopped drinking so much, I ate better and slept more. I got excited about my business and what I could do. I told everyone who would listen about what I was doing. I chose charities and learned how hard it is to give to others but did it anyway (that’s a whole other story). I also learned about crowdfunding and how to ask. I left my life- my husband, children, business and social media efforts to go around the world. I traveled with a person I barely know and climbed with a team of people I just met. I dealt with all the interpersonal issues that happen among humans and maintained my own journey. I visited a continent I always wanted to see. I climbed the mountain. My poor reactions to depleted oxygen due to altitude forced me to depend on others because without them I could not have made it. I delegated my duties to my son who made sure people could see what I was doing. I generated thousands of likes in a week’s time and inspired many people. I returned to a family that completely supported me. I received important lessons and messages during my mountain climb I will use forever. I turned my mountain experience into new coaching and speaking business.
