A creative collaboration between the students and teachers at Delaware Elementary School, the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, and CritterKin, "The Des Moines Doggy Daily" is news with a canine twist designed to encourage everyone who reads it to be kind.
CritterKin is a series of books designed to teach kids that animals (critters) are family (kin). Out of the wonderful stories and characters has come a series of interactive, collaborative, project based learning initiatives focusing on giving children the chance to experience and practice empathy, kindness and respect.
A CritterKin Kids "Be Kind" collaboration with Daisy Marino's 4th grade class at Warren Independent School District in Texas. To see all the amazing drawings produced by the class, visit http://www.pinterest.com/critterkin/critterkin-and-warren-independent-school-district/
CritterKin's Ms. Jenaia got together with Daisy Marino's 4th graders for a "Be Kind" project. First, we read a CritterKin story, then we drew and told the stories of actual dogs waiting to be adopted at the Beaumont shelter. The shelter will use the kids' drawings to help the dogs find forever homes. Way to go kids!
