It’s been a focus of learning and creating this term and the children are excited. Each class has studied the works of a contemporary Maori artist in New Zealand and used that to inspire their own artwork. Please note: we are expecting all students, and as many families as possible, in the hall for the ‘welcome’ at 5.00pm . This will be followed by the exhibition displayed in each classroom from 5.30-6.30pm. See you there! Sausages $2-00. ! Sports T-Ball !! Panthers Otatara Under 7 Team. Calling all 5 and 6 year olds. T-ball is similar to softball; children of any ability can play. It will start in Term 4 on Saturday mornings. If interested in joining please email name and date of birth to Yvonne@smithsnz.com Hockey Season The hockey season concluded earlier this term. Otatara School had 40 students over 5 teams competing, it is very gratifying to know that these young people are learning new skills and experiencing teamwork. On behalf of our school community we extend our grateful thanks to the parents and teachers who gave up their time each and every week to guide and supervise our students. The hockey season is a long and often challenging season in terms of weather and conditions so your support is greatly appreciated. Summer Football (Soccer) Summer football permission forms are available at the school office. There is a quick turnaround with these, as teams have to be registered by the end of term. Please have completed forms back at school by Monday, September 22 nd at the latest.
