Thursday 03 July 2014 – Term 2 Week 9 Confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners striving for excellence Tena koutou katoa nga mihi ki te whanau o te Kura o Otatara - greetings to all families of Otatara School. School has been abuzz this term with technology based inquiries where students are researching signage, creating kapahaka videos, experimenting with healthy finger foods, to name a few, much of this learning will continue into Term 3. Polyfest will also be a focus for next term as well as school wide visual arts learning influenced by Maori artists, more about that to come later! Thank you to all parents and whanau who have in a myriad of ways supported our school over the first half of the year perhaps through coaching or managing teams, listening to students reading in the library, running numeracy number knowledge sessions, assisting with sausage sizzles or other parent group activities, supervising road patrol, providing transportation and undertaking many other roles within and beyond the school - we are truly blessed as a school to have such a supportive community and we do sincerely appreciate the numerous ways in which you work alongside us. I hope you all enjoy a relaxing winter break and I know the staff look forward to welcoming the students back refreshed and revitalized ready for another term of exciting learning on Monday 21st July.
