The PATA Global Insights Conference (PGIC) brings together a dynamic and unique line up of international thought leaders recognised for their success and expertise in innovative and disruptive thinking. This event, to be hosted in Auckland, New Zealand on Friday, September 30, 2016, will explore the key influences that will drive and shape future thinking in terms of tourism destination development and importance of connectivity through all aspects of destination industry development. Key topics to be analysed and discussed at the PATA Insights Conference include: • The effect of air service route network development on the visitor economy • Connecting and combining data sets to build rich customer profiles. • Infrastructure trends and development requirements to needed to support visitor growth and expansion. We invite all industry and associated stakeholders to become a part of this key event, engage with those who influence change, and share your thoughts and ideas on tourism’s future.
Generously hosted by the Guam Visitors Bureau, the PATA Annual Summit 2016 is a 4-day programme consisting of the association’s executive and advisory board meetings, annual general meeting, and the PATA Youth Symposium; and a one-day conference that addresses major issues relevant to the travel and tourism industry. This year, PATA in partnership with the UNWTO will be holding a half-day UNWTO-PATA Ministerial Debate on Pacific Island Tourism. Those registered for the conference will receive complimentary access to this high-level meeting.

The PATA Youth Symposium 2015 was held at Christ University, Bangalore, India on Friday, September 4, 2015. The programme, under the theme ‘Human Resources Challenges and Opportunities for Tourism’s Next Generation’, was developed with guidance from Dr Chris Bottrill, Chairman of the PATA Human Capital Development Committee and Dean, Faculty of Global and Community Studies at Capilano University, Canada.
