Master Chorale heats up your mid-winter with sizzling performances of John Ratledge’s new cantata "The Divine Siren." This lush work is based on the life and poetry of Gaspara Stampa, Renaissance woman extraordinaire! Her tempestuous affair with Count Collaltino di Collalto inspired many of the 311 poems she published and dedicated to him. The work is performed in English and Italian, interspersed with virtuosic solo work, and accompanied by piano. Christopher Marshall’s "Glimpses of Love" and works by Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds complete the program.
