Association at the recent First Annual Prosperity Awards. Detroit Manuacturing Systems was recognized or its work hiring over 800 new employees since 2012. Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation partnered with Detroit Manuacturing Systems to identiy and screen job candidates or the hundreds o positions the company was oering. To date, more than 2,500 candidates have been screened, 1,400 interviews conducted, and the company has a retention rate o over 85% or new employees. Andra Rush, President and CEO o Detroit Manuacturing Systems was highlighted by President Obama during his State o the Union speech as a Michigan success story. “Without DESC, I don’t know that I would have made my employment requirements, said Rosemary Brewer, an employee at Detroit Manuacturing Systems. “They’ve been very responsive to whatever our needs have been.” “Job makers like Detroit Manuacturing System are oering Detroiters a brighter uture one job at a time,” said state Sen. Tupac Hunter (D-Detroit). “Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation is a remarkable resource or residents across the City, as they work to meet the demands o employers and put Detroit back to work.” O Detroit’s more than 300 parks, only about 25 across the city were regularly maintained last season. This year, Mayor Mike Duggan’s adopt- a-park scheme has seen over 70 parks maintained by churches, organizations and neighborhood groups, but that still let 230. So when the City o Detroit’s General Ser- vices Division (GSD) needed to increase its number o seasonal workers, who did they turn to? They turned to DESC’s Summer Youth Employment Program. DESC’s partnership with Reliance One has so ar resulted in well over 100 positions flled or the Auburn Hills- based stafng agency, recently voted one o Michigan’s top 100 employers.
