Music Magazine Analysis This is a music magazine called Q, the colours used are red and white with features of black and gold plus the colours on cover model Adele, a hugely successful artist, she has a direct mode of address although her body is sideways. She is wearing simple make up with huge lashes and they stand out as her body is sideways with her face looking at the camera, her posture is sideways with her face turning towards the camera, her hand is at her mouth with her thumb making her lips slightly parted, you could say her expression is quite sexual with her eyes and mouth, the background is white bringing more attention to the cover star. The shot is a mid-close up and the camera angle is eye level. Everything is in focus and nothing is blurred, the image is clear and crisp. The image is high contrast and has strong colours, the lighting isn’t natural and expresses the mood of pureness as her skin looks really pale yet her eyes and gesture make it look less innocent. The word Adele is written in huge writing across the cover starts shoulder, and smaller words above and below but no mention of a surname or a description because she is such a big star everyone knows her and who she is. The master head is red with other cover lines also in red, Adele’s cover line is in white and some of the others are in black, the words that are bigger on the cover lines are stares names so they draw you in to know about that artist, for instance, a cover line says U2 in bigger writing then the description of the feature article as everyone knows who U2 are that will bring people in. A filled gold circle is also on the cover saying ‘the 300 th issue’ in big white writing with ‘introduced by Paul McCartney’ in smaller black writing to let the readers know it’s an important issue and they are celebrating the amount they’ve sold.
