Nelson Mandela was born in South Africa on July 18, 1918. He died in December 5, 2013 in South Africa. Nelson Mandela has always been an activist in trying to help them get free. In South Africa they called it apartheid. Apartheid is the separation of the black and white South Africans. He is responsible for the anti-apartheid movement. Nelson Mandela’s accomplishments were greatly recognized.Nelson Mandela is a leader to me because he made things fair to all people no matter what color their skin was. He was a kind and honest person. He only wanted what was right. He changed the way many thought. He also won a Nobel peace prize and was the first black president. He thought others how to do what was right in a peaceful manner. This is why I admire him.
