The ECC thanks Peter or so graciously giving up his time to design our Men’s Shed logo and or spending time at the registration day drawing caricatures o many o the newly enrolled Men’s Shed and Community Garden members. The Men’s Shed movement has proven highly successul in bringing together men rom all walks o lie and as a way or men to access inormation about health in a riendly and supportive environment. The WMMS is registered with the Australian Men’s Shed Association and is the frst purpose built multicultural Men’s Shed in Australia. Membership is open to any man regardless o his cultural background or country o birth including Aboriginal and other Australian born men. There is already strong interest rom men who settled in Newcastle rom Europe post WWII, many o whom worked at the ormer BHP or allied industries. The Shed will also be a welcome place or men recently arrived to Australia and are now orming part o the new and emerging Arican, Pacifc Islander, Asian and Middle Eastern communities in Newcastle.
