2 T he B irTh O f M inky ’ s k iTchen : A s TOry wiTh h eArT Minky’s Kitchen was born one very humid and hot Florida night in the home of Miriam Stockley, an award winning singer and songwriter from England. While talking with her friend Maya, Miriam was throwing a whole codsh, organic vegetables and healthy supplements into a blender while the amazing Miss Minky looked on with that crazed look that dogs get when you are basting a Thanksgiving Turkey. Maya watched a moment that she will never forget and secretly turned on the video camera as Miriam cooked up mouth-watering concoctions while explaining the essence of “food as cure”. Two hours later, Minky’s Kitchen was born, and To Die For Productions was launched. Minky, the 7 lb, overweight Chihuahua previously suffered from ailments that left the Vets stumped, the budget drained and both Minky and Miriam frustrated. As a result of her love for Minky, who was suffer- ing, Miriam started to educate herself about alternatives to the health issues Minky faced. With endless love and burning the midnight oil, Miriam poured through books on alternative animal health. Miriam began to cook for Minky and the rest is a healthy, happy history. Minky’s story needs to be told to the millions who have unhealthy and unhappy pets. The public needs to know the truth about our pet food industry, save money on crippling vet bills, and see the animals they love ourish and live long, happy lives. Minky’s Kitchen is here to change the lives of dogs and their owners and in turn change the face of the pet industry. It’s estimated that 70-80 million dogs are owned in the United States. Approximately 37-47% of all households in the United States have a dog. Dogs are our best friends, they bring magic to our lives, open hearts and are the most loyal companions we can have. Minky’s Kitchen wants to honor them for their sacrice, love, humor and heart by making sure they are cared for, fed healthfully and given the longest life possible. And we have an innovative approach: Think, Pee Wee’s Playhouse meets The Dog Whisperer, with Cesar Milan!
