INTRODUCTION Welcome to third grade. This is a wonderfully exciting and fun year of tremendous academic, social and emotional growth for the children. It is my hope that by working together, teachers, parents and children, we can make this year a challenging and fun one for all of our third graders. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you as the school year progresses. DISCIPLINE POLICY In order to have a smooth, productive and rewarding classroom atmosphere a consistent discipline plan is essential. Positive things that the children do (which are many) are always praised and highlighted. The students will follow the districts code of conduct as well as some simple classroom rules. Listed below are the rules, consequences and rewards that have been discussed. Classroom Rules 1. Each child is expected to behave in a respectful, responsible manner toward fellow students and adults in school. 2. Treat others the way you want to be treated. 3. Listen carefully when others are speaking. 4. Stop, look and listen when the teacher is speaking. 5. Follow directions. 6. Push in your chairs when you leave your desk. .
