“Thanks, man!” Will said, grabbing the candy out of the bag. Ryan grabbed two sodas out of the bag and handed one to his friend. After he ate half of the bag of chips and drank the soda, it was already seven forty five. Finally, the time came for Will to leave. His dad walked out of the house and threw Will his backpack. Soon, Will left and Ryan had packed his chips in the corner store bag. Hanging it on his bike again, he started back towards home. He kicked rocks and pop cans, while he pulled his bike beside him. It felt like a long walk home. Once he got to the house, he threw his bike on the grass and ran inside. Not caring to put pajamas on, he jumped right in bed. The next morning, Ryan got up around six thirty. He usually slept in on Saturday’s, but he decided to talk to his mom before she left for what she called work. He slipped on another outfit and ran downstairs. His mother was sitting at the small table eating a piece of toast. “Your up early!” she told him. “Yah, I went to bed early last night. Hey, mom? Do you think I could have my birthday money today instead of tomorrow? I mean, well, I’ve just been saving up...” “No!” she answered, cutting him off. “I’m afraid you aren't getting any money this year. I have too many bills to pay and I’m leaving on a trip tonight.” “Seriously! You’ll use all your money on parties and trips, but not even care to give me just a small amount to feed myself!” Ryan hollered, slamming his fist on the table. “Your brother will take care of you, I’m sure. Doesn’t he love you so dearly?” she asked. “No, he hates me! He doesn’t even come out of his room.” replied Ryan. “Well, there are consequences, and I need to go now. I’ll be heading straight to the airport after work. If you need any food or other supplies, just call Jimmy.” she said as she slammed the door. Jimmy is her boyfriend. He always acts like he loves Ryan when his mom is around. When his mom isn’t around, Jimmy’s always acting like a jerk! All Ryan
