2 Welcome to Sunapee Beaches The beaches open Memorial Day weekend and close Labor Day weekend. Beach passes are required or parking and can only be obtained at Sunapee Town Hall. DEWEY BEACH HOURS: Dewey Beach is open seven days a week rom 9 am – 6 pm (lieguard hours) weather permitting. GEORGES MILL BEACH HOURS: Georges Mill Beach lieguard hours are Saturday and Sunday rom 11am -3 pm. BEACH NUMBER: 763.5996 Swim registration orms are available at Dewey Beach, Sunapee Town Hall or online at www.town.sunapee. nh.us. I you are not sure o your child’s swim level, visit the lieguards at Dewey Beach or an assessment. Take the Plunge! Learn to swim! Swim Dates: June 30 - July 11 July 14 - July 25 July 28 - August 8 SWIM LEVELS Preschool Water Fun! For our younger “beach goers” (ages 2-4) and their parents, a water adjustment class ull o getting used to the water with un and games! Parental participation is a must. We will be playing games in the water and learning some saety as well! For Swimmers entering kindergarten and beyond… Level 1 – Water Exploration: Skills taught include water adjustment, prone foat, turning over, kicking, beginner and crawl stroke. Water adjustment is the main ocus in this level. Level 2 – Primary Skills: Prerequisite skills are those learned in level 1. Students will be introduced to elements o the ront and back crawl stroke. Level 3 – Stroke Readiness: The prerequisite is successul completion o level 2. Students will improve ront and back crawl strokes and be introduced to elementary backstroke. Level 4 – Stroke Development: Students master previously learned swimming strokes and skills. Learn the breast stroke and side stroke and learn the basics o diving. Level 5 – Stroke refnement: Students are introduced to the butterfy stroke and urther development on diving. Level 6 –Swimming & Skills Profciency : Prepare or advanced courses. Personal water saety. Lieguard readiness. Fundamentals o diving. Fitness swimmer. This class is the precursor to the lie-guarding class.
