Here are eight reasons why you should consider choosing interactive, digital flipbooks instead of boring and static PDFs. Check them out!
1 . Attendance : Students are expected to come to class ready to learn and participate in class activities and discussion. Attendance will be taken for each class session. As indicated in the Student Affairs Handbook, "… the student is responsible for knowing and meeting all course requirements, including tests, assignments and class participation…The instructor has no obligation to give make - up examinations or to review other class work missed by a student as a result of absence." Any student missing a class is responsible for finding out what information was missed during that session . Requests for excused absences (e.g., illness, family emergency, religious holiday, a University sponsored activity, military service) will be honored; however, these must be in writing or formally documented in order to reschedule an exam or to avoid a penalty for late homework. 2. Readings : Students are expected to stay current with the assigned readings. These readings provide the basis for class discussion; therefore, students should read the assignments prior to the class for which they are assigned. 3. A cademic responsibility : The University expects students to be honest in all endeavors. The learning process is compromised by cheating, plagiarism, and other dishonest acts. It is expected that students will conform to the Academic Honesty Policy as outlined in the student code of Bowling Green State University ( http://www.bgsu.edu/content/dam/BGSU/student-affairs/Student- Conduct/documents/Student-Handbook.pdf ). This policy states in part that all instances of cheating, fabrication and plagiarism are prohibited; all incidents of academic dishonesty will be reported to the academic dean; and all incidents will result in sanction ranging from no credit for a given assignment to expulsion from the university per the guidelines of stated policy. Bear in mind that this policy is not limited to those who benefit from dishonest behavior, but also applies to any student who assists or facilitates in dishonest behavior. 4. Late-policy : An assignment is considered late if it is not turned in by the specified date, time, and location (online vs. in class). Late assignments will be considered for grading with a 50% reduction of points but these must be received no later than the class session immediately following the due date. After that, no credit will be given. Exceptions to this policy may be made under extenuating circumstances with notice prior to the deadline. 5. S tudents are expected to adhere to BGSU's core values . These are respect for one another, cooperation, intellectual growth, creative imaginings, and pride in a job well done. 6. Students with special needs : In accordance with the University policy, if the student has a documented disability and requires accommodations to obtain equal access in this course, he or she should contact the instructor at the beginning of the semester and make this need known. Students with disabilities must verify their eligibility through Disability Services, 38 College Park Office Building, 419-372-8495. 7. Use of class time: Please refrain from texting, answering your phone, sending e-mails, checking your Facebook account, doing homework for another class, or engaging in other activity unrelated to class. Please turn off cell phones and computers before class starts. The use of electronic devices in the classroom for personal reasons has become a serious problem in the past few years. This behavior will be noted and may result in the loss of attendance points. We may use electronic devices as part of class instruction. If so, this will be announced and planned in advance.
