Daily Expectations 1. Students should follow Wolverine Ways at all times. Behave in a manner so as to not infringe on anyone’s right to an education. 2. Students must bring textbook, math journal and other materials to class everyday ON TIME. Stu- dents will have a personal place to keep materials in the classroom. 3. Gather any materials, sharpen pencils, and begin bell work during the first 5 minutes of class. 4. Keep all completed work, tests, quizzes, and notes either in folder or math journal. 5. Actively pay attention and take notes on math journal. 6. Make up all missed work within the set time limits. These time limits will vary accord- ing to each students needs. 7. Complete all assign- ments on time and ask for help when needed. 8. Come to class with a positive attitude and always do your personal best Evaluation Grades are based on assessments only . Home- work, bell work, and class work will be recorded in the grade book, but will not effect overall grade. Though, if students are not doing their homework, bell work, class work, etc, it will be noticed in their assessment scores. Students will continue to expand their knowl- edge of mathematics by gaining additional experiences in a variety of mathematical set- tings. In addition, students will expand their problem solving skills and apply the tools of mathematics to the real world. Suggested Materials Some items will be provided for students such as glue sticks, rulers, scissors, protractors, and colored pencils. These items will remain in class. Stu- dents may purchase their own if they like. 1 Pocket Folder with fasteners Several Pencils: Preferable Mechanical Erasers since mistakes do happen when learning new math Correcting Pens: Red or green sug- gested Paper: An Ample supply of loose-leaf paper Assessments: All assessments will be announced in advance. Students may re-assess on any learning tar- gets before school or during advisory within two weeks of the assessment date. Students must meet with teacher prior to re-assessment to create a plan of action. Students must com- plete a re-assessment contract as part of the plan of action. For each assessment, you will see multiply scores. Each score represents a specific skill a student was tested on. Homework: Every Thursday, students will be assigned homework. It is due the following Thursday. Homework will be assigned using www.mathxlforschool.com . If students do not have internet access, please contact me. Other Work: Students will be assigned work daily. This work will be completed during class. Types of work include notes, ACE problems from textbook, bell work, exit cards, etc. Students are respon- sible for absent work.
