Page 2 Early pick ups Dear Parents Whilst we know that the weather is not perfect at the moment, can we ask that parents do not go to pick up their KS1/2 children before 3.35. There seems to be a number of parents waiting outside classrooms or even entering classrooms before this time and as well as breaking school policy it is incredibly disruptive to the learning of all children. Therefore, if you arrive early for pick up, please feel free to have a coffee in Reception or wait in one of the common areas rather than congregate outside classrooms. Many thanks for your consideration. It is really appreciated. Stephen Rogers Christmas cards competition We are currently running a Christmas card competition across Key Stages 1 and 2. The deadline is 9am on Monday 8 th December and the winning designs will be printed on the EISP Christmas cards. We have already received some great designs and are looking forward to get more on Monday! EISP Debate Team in Amsterdam Last weekend a team of five senior students travelled to Amsterdam to take part in a debate exchange. Over a period of three days the students had to research a motion, write a speech and then take part in an international debate at the International School of Amsterdam. For many of our students this was the first time they had taken part in a formal debate with another school. However, despite some pre- debate nerves, they rose to the occasion and all delivered convincing and eloquent speeches. Representing EISP for the first time, Ksenia Marchenko from Year 12 was awarded the best speaker award for her team. Aside from all the work, students also got a chance to explore Amsterdam: taking in the Van Gogh Museum; visiting Anne Frank’s House; admiring the early morning rowers on the River Amstel and eating a vast amount of fries and waffles. We are now looking forward to welcoming the students of ISA to EISP in February for the second round of the debate. Ms Pešová
