Homemade sausage Bluestem Communities Executive Chef Tom Basore and his staff now are grinding and stuffing fresh, homemade sausage for use in the Harvest Table and all Bluestem Culinary locations. Watch for a variety of flavors in future menus. Award-winning care Bethel Health Care Center at Kidron Bethel Village earned a high ranking of 5 stars overall in U.S. News and World Report’s “2014 Best Nursing Homes.” Kidron won the distinction in 2011 and 2013 as well. Kidron also earned Nursing Home Compare’s 5 - star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. CMS sets and enforces standards for nursing homes enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid. Come enjoy a cup of coffee with friends in the new Harvest Grounds Coffee Shop, located adjacent to the Harvest Table Dining area. Open to the public, the shop operates from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 7 days a week. Harvest Grounds offers a variety of flavored coffees, breakfast specials, healthful sandwiches and wraps, veggies, nuts, cheeses, single - piece fruits, bagels, baked goods and frozen treats such as ice cream novelties. Homemade ice cream also is available in a variety of flavors. Smaller portion sizes are a plus for those who want a wide range of choices without leftovers. JEROL SCHRAG Jerol began work Monday, June 30, as Bluestem Communities’ new Chief Financial Officer. He previously was CFO for Kanza Bank, Wichita, and also worked at RelianzBank of Wichita and First Bank of Newton. He is a Bethel College grad with degrees in accounting and business administration, and an alum of the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colo. He and his wife, Becky, live in Hesston where they are members of Whitestone Mennonite Church and have been high school youth sponsors for the past decade. The couple has three children.
