changed to today's current date. The date on the board is March 24th, 3782. Rose stops and looks at it for a moment, wondering what it might've been like ten years ago. Then she keeps walking, heading to the woods. She starts to walk along the west wall of The Sanctuary, which is covered in ivy. As she runs her fingers along the wall, her fingers touch something cold, and smooth. She pulls back the ivy, and finds a metal plaque on the wall. The plaque reads: Identification number: 174682638252 Property of P.A.S.F., and the United States Government Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, US. Rose studies the plaque, then spots something shiny out of the corner of her eye. It was in the direction of the woods. She follows the object into the woods. • • • As time passes, Rose doesn't return. As breakfast starts to turn cold, Fern and Lily decide to go look for her. Fern and Lily head outside in the direction of the woods. When they reach the edge of the woods, they stop. "Where do you think she went?" Lily asks. "I have no idea," Fern responds. They decide to head north, when all of a sudden, they run into Thorn and Hail, both carrying bundles of wood. "Hey! Have you seen Rose?" Fern asks. "No, we haven't seen her, why?" Hail asks, curiously. "She went out to find you guys, a while ago," Lily replies. Suddenly, Brindle bursts through the bushes, gasping, with tears running down his cheeks. "Guys! Come here! Now!" Brindle shouts, then runs back in the woods. The others exchange a curious glance, then follow him into the woods. As everyone tries to keep up with Brindle, they all start to smell something foul. Suddenly, the woods go dark as clouds cover the sun. Finally, they all burst into a clearing, and what they discover is sickening. Rose is laying in the middle of the clearing, her limbs at awkward angles, with several stab wounds all across her body. Her blood stained all of the grass around her body bloodred. Above her body, in the branches of a tree, is something shiny and metallic, in the shape of a giant crow. Each of it's talons are long, threeinch daggers, and it's beak one, long, razorsharp blade. There was blood dripping from each of it's talons and it's beak, and it was staring straight at them. Everyone was speechless as they stood and stared at the bird, and at Rose. The stench of Rose's blood was filling the air, overwhelming them, bringing tears to everyone's eyes. Suddenly, the crow lifts it's massive wings and flies away, into the darkened sky. "Guys, did you see it's neck?" Hail asks quietly, still stunned with grief and confusion. "What?" Lily says, with a far away look in her eyes. "It's neck. It said 'Property of P.A.S.F.' The people who built this place, to save us." Hail says, tears running down his cheeks. "No...that's not, it can't...it can't be..." Fern stutters. "Oh my God..." Thorn trails off.
