The second U21 HS Summer School will run from 6-18 July 2015 and will be hosted by the Tecnológico de Monterrey, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. The theme of the Summer School will be: Vulnerability, low budget health care. According to the World Health Organization, vulnerability can be defined as “…the degree to which a population, individual or organization is unable to anticipate, cope with, resist and recover from the impacts of disasters”. A vulnerable condition requires the organized cooperation of every member of a multidisciplinary health care team to withstand the effects of a hostile environment. The U21 HS Summer School 2015 is designed in three modules, so students can understand and apply concepts of vulnerability at three different levels: first, analyzing health care systems; second, focusing on processes of a specific health care organization and finally, at the level of vulnerable patients and groups. The U21 HS Summer School 2015 will take an interprofessional learning approach, with students learning in multiprofessional teams. The program will also include visits to a health care center where they will apply the tools and knowledge acquired in the classroom and activities with the people there. Besides they will have the opportunity to make cultural trips to visit the landmarks in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México.
