e aa aegae Page 2 against accidental damage no matter where he/she is e.g. sports events, concerts, carol singing, nature walks, school tours etc. Materials Contribution As per each year, we request a contribution towards materials for classroom use. This contribution is vital to help the school cover the following expenses: art materials, maths materials , science materials, PM reading books/class novels/classroom shared reading materials and photocopying. Please send in your contribution to your child's class teacher in a clearly labelled envelope. Please note that payment can be made in instalments if desired. The amounts are as follows: one child- €30, two children €50 and three or more children €70. Parents of Junior Infant children only, have already paid € 25 towards materials, and the remaining balance may be given to Ms Canny. Uniform All pupils of the school must wear their full school uniform each day. It is very important that each child makes a major effort to wear the complete uniform. Please try to have the uniform washed at the weekends so that the children are not without their uniforms during the week. A uniform reinforces in students a pride in their appearance and assists in developing pride in representing their school. Issues of equality, health and safety and expense are also factors that contribute to the establishment of this Uniform Policy. Children are also required to have one pair of indoor shoes. The latter is vital to keep the school clean and to avoid wet and dirty floors. Healthy Eating Policy Our school operates a Healthy Lunch Policy and we encourage children to eat a healthy, balanced diet. (No sweets, crisps, chocolate bars/biscuits/spreads/fizzy drinks). Our school lunch scheme has begun and we request that the contribution of €10 per term or €30 for the year be given to class teachers or SNA Mary Glynn. I would like to sincerely thank Mary for the huge amount of work she has done and continues to do in the school and in particular with regard to school lunches and book rental. Reception/Dismissal of Pupils Pupils will be collected by their class teacher from their line at 08.50am and at first bell on wet mornings. We open our doors at 08.50am. There is no teacher supervision before this time. We do not encourage you to arrive earlier but if you must please supervise your child at all times. Parking Pending the enactment of a comprehensive traffic management plan, the Board request that children are dropped off and collected promptly in the morning and afternoon.. Please be mindful of neighbours' entrances and take care not to block their gateways. Labelling of Property I would ask parents to label clearly all of your child(ren)s property, eg. Books, copies, pencils, pens, coats, shoes, slippers, sports gear, lunch boxes, etc. This year we had lots of unclaimed property and labelling would eliminate this. Please send notes as outlined in the homework diary: When a child is absent or late. Homework is not complete. A child, due to illness, needs to remain in the classroom. Please state for how long this arrangement is necessary. This facility should only be used when absolutely necessary. If a child wishes to leave school during school hours.
