Guidance on employee shareholder status published

On 1st September the government implemented the employee shareholder scheme. Potential or current employees can now be offered the chance to acquire shares on a favourable tax basis, in return for giving up some of their employment rights. The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) has published guidance on the new employment status which sets out the six conditions that must be satisfied in order to validly create an employee shareholder contract.
