Define prefixes, suffixes and wordroots from Lesson 2 med term words. 2. Spell and pronounce medical terms correctly. 3. Create an Animoto in a group of 4 students using five assigned med term words from Lesson 2. Post to YouTube for class to watch. Prerequisite Skill(s) Needed: Ability to scan QR Codes with Smart Phone/iPad How will you teach students the objectives identified above. (List step-by-step description of the lesson.) Introduction: (how students will be introduced to the goals and what is expected of them.) Students will have had a preview of what is expected from Med Term Lesson 1. Objectives for the lesson will be reviewed. Students will be introduced to Medical Terminology Lesson 2 with a DVD presenting all 25 words and their meanings. The DVD uses audionyms to help students remember the meaning of the words. Main activity: (how the teacher will facilitate the learning experience.) Following the preview of Med Term Lesson 2, students will individually create flashcards for each word on quizlet. Students will use individual computers provided in the classroom for this section of the lesson. Once flashcards are created, students can use the learn and speller tools on quizlet to practice terms and their meanings. When everyone has completed their flashcards, students will then be introduced to Animoto. Students will use their smart phones for this section of the lesson. Each student will use the provided QR code to learn how to create an Animoto video. Following this instruction, students will be divided into groups of 4. Each group will be given 5 med term words from Lesson 2. Instructions, guidelines and a rubric to create their own group video will be provided. Students will work on one classroom computer/group for this part of the lesson. Each student in the group will be responsible for at least one of the med term words assigned to the group and the creation of that portion of the video. An example for the project will be given by scanning the second QR code. Conclusion: (how the teacher will bring closure for students and provide feedback.)
