Since 1973, HIYF has welcomed more than 36,000 participants from 37 countries, with many long term friendships being formed along the way. Open to all genres of music and performance groups, HIYF takes place over the Easter weekend where young musicians perform to large appreciative audiences at stunning historical venues including The Royal Hall, Ripon Cathedral and UNESCO World Heritage Site Fountains Abbey. What makes HIYF so different from other music festivals is the level of cultural diversity and the opportunity for i nternational and local groups to mix, perform and socialise together.
