She allegedly fought for a new Egypt, and already being popular with the nickname “Facebook Girl” she gained more popularity with interviews. She is an Egyptian democracy activist and had already taken place in a revolution before. Background of revolution The Egyptian revolution was a movement following a popular uprising that began January 25 th , 2011. Non-violent civil resistance and acts of civil disobedience is some of the things that is consisted of. Millions of protesters from a range demanded the over throw of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak. Violent clashes between security forces resulted 846 people killed and almost 6,000 people injured. Results of Revolution The Arab spring revolution resulted in many things. It lead to deaths from both sides, and injurys of many other people. Esraa Abdel Fattah helped to encourage the people though for a new and better Egypt. Her actions in 2006 helped her to convince the people that change could be made. She helped to organize the protests and said herself that she was optimistic for the future of Egypt but was also worried during the revolution. However, the Arab spring is still far from being over many officials claim, so as long as Esraa and the people keep fighting, they might get a new Egypt. Background of early life
